Wednesday, May 16, 2012 Commences the 165-day Global Call to Fasting and Prayer for America and the World

Wednesday, May 9, 2012 is the day that the President of the United States and leader of the free world, Barack Obama, broke thousands of years of Godly biblical tradition and announced to the world that he supports homosexual marriage. Along with other fasting opportunities, Evangelist Daniel Whyte III is calling upon all believers to join him in fasting at least one meal every Wednesday through the election (everyone is encouraged to fast the whole 24 hour period, but if you cannot do that, please fast at least one meal), praying and asking God for the following:

]]> 1. That all races understand that neither Romney nor Obama is the answer, but Jesus is the answer.

2. That we as pastors and churches repent of our hypocrisy because the church is more guilty than the government for the state of affairs in this country. The Bible says, "Judgment must begin at the house of God."

3. That both Obama and Romney, who claim to be believers, would confess their sins and repent of lying, dishonesty, hypocrisy, and intentionally deceiving people for political gain.

4. That President Obama will repent of being a Judas and betraying the Lord, betraying the Lord's church, betraying America, betraying thousands of black, white, and hispanic pastors who tried to help him, and betraying his own people who have overwhelmingly supported him; and as a Christian, that he would stand up, humble himself, and apologize to the nation for making such an abominable decision and statement.

5. For the salvation of millions of people in this country and in the world, including those in the homosexual community.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God..." (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

"And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting." (Mark 9:29)

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)

This twenty-four hour fast will begin after breakfast on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 and will end at breakfast on Thursday, May 17, 2012. This one-day fast will commence an extended period of fasting and prayer which will end on November 6, 2012 (election day). Gospel Light Society is calling on all Christians around the world who believe in traditional marriage and who are willing to stand up for God's Word to unite in fasting and prayer for any length of time during this 165 day period. Those who wish to participate may fast for 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 10 days, 14 days, 21 days, 28 days, 30 days, 40 days, or any amount of time that God leads them to fast.

Letter Thirty-One

Dear Daughters & YBW:

Years ago, long before you were born, James Brown sang a song entitled "It's A Man's World". Thankfully, it is not a man's world. Rather, it is God's world, and men, women, and children have their part to play in it. Women are just as important as men, but they do have their role to play in God's world. James Brown was a little bit off, but not too far off.

Contrary to what the feminists of our society would tell you, God did put men on earth to be leaders, and to fulfill their role as protectors and providers. The women that men like to be around the most are those dear women who have the uncanny ability to think like a man, yet be all woman. These women have the special ability to appreciate a man as he is, without trying to change that man to be more like them. They can relish in a man's world without feeling slighted or ignored.

Here are some of the traits that I have seen in this kind of woman:

1. This special woman knows that one of the greatest needs of a man is respect, and she is wise enough to know that if she gives him that respect, she gets the things that she wants such as: love, affection, attention, and anything else.

2. This special woman knows how to come near her husband and snuggle with him while he is watching the Super Bowl game, be quiet, enjoy it, and have all of the food and drinks ready. She knows how to get her pleasure by just being with him. She is also feminine enough to know when to leave the room when there are a bunch of guys visiting to watch the game as well, and she doesn't get an attitude about it. She enjoys being a woman, and she wants her man to be a man.

3. This special woman understands that men think in a straightforward manner, and she sees this as a gift from God to solve problems quicker, and she doesn't get offended by it. She, therefore, provides information to her husband about problems, bills, etc., in a straightforward, orderly fashion, the way he wants to receive it and not the way she naturally wants to give it.

4. This special woman knows that men like for you to express your feelings, desires, and needs in a concrete, straightforward, and truthful manner instead of him being forced to try to guess and figure out what you want or need. Dear sister, no matter how much you want your knight in shining armor to be able to know everything there is about you, he is not a mind reader. You must communicate and tell him what you want and what you like.

5. This special woman knows that men desire sex more than women do, and she takes good care of that business. So instead of you, dear sister, being sickened by this thought, prepare yourself to satisfy your husband's needs in this area. If you are not really in the mood, or even if you don't get much physical satisfaction from the episode, your satisfaction comes from satisfying him. You say, sometimes when he is in the mood, I suddenly get a headache. I say, take an aspirin and keep moving. Don't play games in this area. There has been many a sister who has lost a good man to another woman who knew how to take care of him in this area.

I can go on and on. Men love women who can think like them, while at the same time be all woman because to some degree, it is a man's world -- but "it wouldn't be nothing without a woman or a girl."

One of the most famous Buddhist temples in the world is the Shwe Dagon. It stands on a hill over 200 feet high and rises some 200 feet higher. It is covered with a pure gold leaf. Around its base are hundreds of small pagodas, in each of which is some relic of a teacher of Buddhism. Embedded in the solid masonry of the base is a gold box which contains some finger-bones, teeth, and other parts of Buddha, who lived many centuries ago.

There is another burial place in Arabia, the green mosque of Medina, under which lies the body of Mohammed. Millions of people today are his earnest followers. But, despite his greatness, he, too, is dead, and like Buddha, he lies buried here on earth.

The burial place of Confucius is a grass covered mound in the province of Shantung, China. Confucius was also a great man and teacher, and he influenced the lives of millions of human beings. Nevertheless, he is dead and his body, too, is here on earth.

There is another tomb that was cut into a rock. A tomb which had been closed with a great stone. Today, the stone is "rolled away", and the Man whose body had been laid within by sorrowing friends is gone.

The world shattering truth being that on the third day, "He [Jesus] ROSE from the dead!"

Yes, indeed, the tomb of Christ is an empty tomb. That's the vital difference between Jesus of Nazareth and any and all other great religious leaders who ever walked the earth.

He, too, was a great teacher. He, too, was a great man. His teaching also has affected millions who believe in Him. But He was much more than a great teacher or philosopher, more than just a great leader. He is the Son of God with power. That's why His tomb is empty! Acts 2:24 says, "[Jesus] Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it."

And He did not die as other men do --- unwillingly. He died as a sacrifice "for the sins of the world." He died for your sins and for mine.

Jesus Christ, by His Resurrection, has changed the lives of millions. Because He conquered death and lives, all who believe in Him will live as well.

You, too, can know His life transforming power if you will receive Him into your life as Saviour and Lord. The Bible declares in John 3:36, "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

The Bible states in the book of Romans 10:9, 13: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

If you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me the following simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

He received many awards for his work including multiple National Association of Limited Edition Dealers awards for Artist of the Year and Graphic Artist of the Year, and his art was named Lithograph of the Year nine times. In his art, he placed an emphasis on the value of simple pleasures and said that he intended to communicate inspirational, life-affirming messages through his work for the glory of God. Before his unexpected death on Good Friday, April 6, 2012, he held the title of being "America's most-collected living artist".

He says of his salvation experience and the impact that it had on his work, "I became a Christian in 1980, when I was about 22 years old, and I would say that when I was saved, my art got saved. It was then that a very interesting transition began in my life. I started to see the characteristic of light begin to develop within my work. The darkness was leaving and the light was beginning to break forth. For example, my paintings, prior to that time, were very much self-defining and idiosyncratic. They were very much my own expression. I had little interest in how my art affected other people. In fact, my college professors would constantly make the point that one's art is all about one's self. It doesn't matter if someone else understands or likes it. It doesn't matter if they purchase it. All that matters is you.' It was art as self-expression, as opposed to any concern for, or consciousness of an audience, or any desire to impact other people. When I became a Christian, I began to challenge that notion..."

He credited the Lord for both the ability and the inspiration to create his paintings. He says, "My goal is to touch all people, to bring peace and joy into their lives through the images I create and I see my art as a ministry tool to share Jesus Christ with the masses."His name is Thomas Kinkade.

John 3:16 reads, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

"For God so loved the world" means that if you are in the world, God loves you. No matter who you are, where you are, or what you have done, God loves you.

God loves you more than you love yourself. He loves you so much so "that He gave His only begotten Son." His only begotten son is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and for mine, He was buried, and on the third day, He rose from the dead.

"that whosoever believeth in Him", whosoever means anybody of any race, any color, or any socio-economic status can believe on Jesus Christ.

"should not perish, but have everlasting life." if you believe on Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you will not perish in hell, instead you will have everlasting life in heaven with God.

Ralph David Abernathy: 'Jesus is the Greatest Changer in History'

He was a prominent leader in the American Civil Rights Movement, a Baptist minister, and a close friend and associate of Martin Luther King, Jr. Following King's assassination in 1968, he took up the leadership position of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference Poor People's Campaign and led the March on Washington, D.C. that had been planned for May 1968. ]]>

At the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement, he served as pastor of the largest black church in Montgomery, AL, and led the way in distributing flyers asking blacks to boycott Montgomery buses. For 13 years, from 1955 to 1968, he walked with King on his journey to tear down the walls of segregation and discrimination in the South. He endured bombings, beatings, jail time, confiscation of his family inheritance, and continual threats to march through the streets of the South proclaiming, "Let my people go." He was with King on the night of his assassination and cradled him in his arms, as King took his last breath. After King's death, he continued the civil rights work that had been started. During his lifetime, he was honored with more than 300 awards and citations, including five Honorary Doctorate Degrees. He died in 1990.

When asked by a college student how he came to know Jesus Christ as his Saviour, he said, "When I was a young boy I went to the altar one Sunday morning in my father's Baptist church and there I met Jesus Christ. And I've never been the same." He said on another occasion, "Christians should be ready for a change because Jesus was the greatest changer in history." His name is Ralph David Abernathy, Sr.

Today is commonly known as Palm Sunday and begins the week leading up to Easter Sunday when we celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The people of Jerusalem asked an important question upon Jesus' arrival - WHO IS THIS? Today, we want to take a moment and talk about who Jesus Christ is or as Psalm 24:10 puts it, "Who is this King of glory?"

Jesus is one of the most controversial figures in history. His true identity is what separates all world religions. Some claim He is just a good man and a prophet, others say He is a created being; still others say He is the Son of God. Every major religion acknowledges Jesus but only one can be right about who He really is. If you are seeking the truth, the beginning point of your search should be on the person of Jesus.

I. JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE

There is a common belief that all religions are the same, that we all worship the same God. This is not true. In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jesus is The Way - not a way. It is imperative to know the truth about Him.

Many people refer to Jesus as being the Son of God. This statement is Biblically correct. Unfortunately, many religious groups acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God, but they do not mean the same thing. When you question them further, you will find that they believe He was a created being of some sort.

II. JESUS IS GOD IN THE FLESH

If we are to clearly convey what the Bible says about Jesus, we must recognize Him as God in the flesh. This statement will clearly distinguish the core of your belief.

In 1 John 2:22-23 we read: "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also." In John 4:25-26 we find that the term Christ and the Messiah are synonymous. Jesus told the woman at the well that He was the Messiah. In the Old Testament, the Messiah's deity was foretold. In Isaiah 7:14 we are told, "...a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." In Matthew 1:23 we find that the term Immanuel means God With Us. In Isaiah 9:6-7 we see that the child was to be called Mighty God.

In his book, 'Mere Christianity", C.S. Lewis said this about Jesus Christ:

"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Jesus: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic -‑ on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg ‑- or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

III. JESUS HIMSELF CLAIMED TO BE GOD

In John 5:18 and John 10:33, the Jews clearly understood that Jesus was claiming to be deity. John 5:18 reads, "Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God." John 10:33 states, "The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God."

In John 8:58, Jesus referred to Himself as "I AM", the same term God used about Himself when He talked to Moses at the burning bush in Exodus 3:14. In Acts 20:28 we are told that Jesus purchased the church "with His own blood." The only way that could be true is if Jesus was God.

IV. JESUS FORGAVE SINS AND ACCEPTED WORSHIP FROM OTHERS

In the Gospels, several incidents re-affirm Jesus' deity. In Mark 2:5-7 Jesus forgave sins. "When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?" In Matthew 12:25 and Luke 6:8 Jesus knew peoples thoughts. He also exhibited power of nature in Luke 8:24 and Matthew 14:25. In Exodus 34:14, we are commanded to "worship no other god."

Jesus received and approved of others worshipping Him. Matthew 14:33 reads, "Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God." John 9:38 reads, "And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him." All these things were powers and prerogatives that belong only to God.

V. JESUS PROPHESIED HIS CRUCIFIXION AND RESURRECTION

Finally, in John 2:18-22 Jesus made the most astounding prediction of all time. He prophesied His body would be destroyed (crucified), but in three days He would raise Himself from the dead. John 2:18-22 reads, "Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said." All four Gospels clearly show the resurrection. Jesus fulfilled His prophetic statements, something only God could do!

Jesus clearly claimed to be God in the flesh. This means either He was a lunatic of epic proportions or He is who He said He is. There is no middle ground. If Jesus is who He claimed to be, there is nothing more important than receiving Him as our Savior. John 1:12 states, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"

Dear friend, do you know this Jesus for yourself? If not, allow me to share with you from God's Word how you can accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead to give to you and me:

First we must acknowledge His deity, what He did on the cross, and His resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 states, "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

Second, we must acknowledge we are sinners. Romans 3:23 states, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Third, we must realize that we need God to redeem us from our sin. 1 Peter 1:18-19 reads, "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" 1 Peter 3:18 reads, "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:"

Finally, we must ask Jesus to come into our life. Revelation 3:20 reads, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."

We receive Christ by faith. Salvation is a gift offered to us by His grace. Ephesians 2:8-9 states, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

If you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and rose again, please pray with me the following simple prayer:

Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer with all sincerity, you now know God has forgiven all your sins. Ephesians 1:7 states, "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;" You also know that Jesus will help you to change whatever needs to be changed in your life. Philippians 4:13 states "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

Letters to Trayvon

In light of the tragic shooting death of Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old unarmed young black man, and the explosive aftermath that has come from that across the nation, allow me to share with you a couple of letters that I wrote to my 3 Trayvons and to all of the Trayvons in America in my Essence national bestselling book, "Letters To Young Black Men". We know over a quarter of a million young men have read these letters because that is how many copies have sold, and if they shared it with their friends that number has quadrupled. It is my prayer and hope that Trayvon read it and applied it to his life before he was tragically killed. Since it is obviously true that all of us are Trayvon and any one of us can die at any time for no reason it is important that you listen to this message and take heed to it. ]]>

THE MAIN THING

Dear Y.B.M.:

I am writing this letter from Hamden, Connecticut. I trust that you are doing well in these days.

Recently, I was speaking at a church in Orlando, Florida, and I saw a sign on the front of the pulpit that read:

The Main Thing

The Main Thing.

In this letter, I would like to speak to you about the most important aspect of your life -- your Spiritual Life: the Main Thing. Now, you may not now think that your spiritual life is the most important part of your life, but trust me, it is. The longer you live on planet earth, the more you realize that life is more about the inner man than the outer man; for you see, you are not a body with a spirit. Rather, you are a spirit with a body. If your physical body would fall away, you would still exist.

Jesus said in Matthew 4:4: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

I realize that talking about things spiritual is not popular these days, and it may not be what you wish to talk about at this time. I recall, when I was a child and got sick with what they called the "whooping cough" or some type of flu or cold, my dear grandmother Beaman and/or my great-grandmother Breedlove would give me something that I didn't like -- but needed. It was called "Castor Oil". Dear Y.B.M., you may not like all that I am talking with you about, or you may not be interested in what I am talking with you about, but being that I have gone the way that you are going, I can say firmly and lovingly that you need it!

Your spiritual life, your relationship with God, should be your number one priority in this life. No, it is not your health, your wealth, or even your education. It is God and God alone! There was a time that we as a race of people put more of an emphasis on the spiritual life than we do now. Today, however, we place more of an emphasis on the body, material things and money. And we wonder why we have the murder, mayhem and madness in our community!

Young man, you can be a part of turning things around for your people. But you must put God first and make your spiritual life priority number one.

Jesus also said in Mark 8:36: "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"

GET TO KNOW YOUR CREATOR

Dear Y.B.M.:

I trust that you are doing well today. I am doing fine.

If you have not done so already, may I strongly encourage you to get to know your God? Dear friend, you will not have a happy, fulfilling, successful life without God as your center. It simply will not happen.

Now when I say get to know God, I am not talking about joining a church, getting baptized, doing good works, or becoming more active in church. I am talking about getting to know God personally for yourself. Here is what I mean:

First of all, understand that you are a sinner like the rest of us. Yes, believe it or not, each of us born into this world has sinned. Each one of us has broken the laws of God. The Bible states plainly in Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

Second, God wants us to understand that because of our sin, there is a great punishment and that punishment is death -- both spiritual death and physical death. You see, because of sin, we not only die physically, but also because of sin we die spiritually. This spiritual death is actually eternal separation from God in a place called Hell. Notice what God's Word says about this death in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death..."

Revelation 21:8 says, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Third, after realizing our sad and condemned condition, God wants us to understand that He loves us more than we love ourselves. He loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to live, suffer, shed His blood and die on Calvary's cross for your sin and mine. After Jesus' earth-shaking death that day, He was buried and three days later He arose again by the power of God. You remember this verse, don't you? You probably learned it in Sunday School when you were a child:

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

In order to really know God, you must go through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Notice what Jesus Christ said Himself:

John 14:6 says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Jesus Christ is the only way to God. Jesus Christ is the only way to joy, peace and to eternal life. Here is how to accept Him into your heart according to the scriptures:

Romans 10:9 reads, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Romans 10:13 states, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Dear friend of mine, if you want to know God, the source of all love, joy, peace, real happiness and true success, believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again for you, and ask Him to come into your heart and save you. And He will. You have God's Word on it.

Congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!

Raised by a single mother in Houston, Texas, he moved around a lot in his early years and soon dicovered rap as a way to convey his feelings to others. Before starting college, he was almost arrested for drug possession. When the police officer saw a Bible on the back seat of his car, he asked what it was. He told him, "I know I need to live it." That night, the officer made a deal with him that if he agreed to live by the Bible, the officer would let him go. This is the "Chief of Sinners," Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, and just as Lecrae Moore gave his life to Christ, may I encourage you to do the same. Here is how:

John 3:16 reads, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

"For God so loved the world" means that if you are in the world, God loves you. No matter who you are, where you are, or what you have done, God loves you.

"that whosoever believeth in Him", whosoever means anybody of any race, any color, any belief system, or any socio-economic status can believe on Jesus Christ.

"should not perish, but have everlasting life." if you believe on Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you will not perish in hell, instead you will have everlasting life in heaven with God.

THE END OF THE WORLD?

We know that there is a day coming when this world as we know it will end. But how can we know for sure whether the world will end? The only reliable source of information we have about end-time events is the Bible.

THE BIBLE AND END-TIME EVENTS

The Bible gives us the following valuable information about the events of the end of the world.

THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST

According to the Bible no one knows when this will occur, but it will take place. Acts 1:7-11 states, "And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." Jesus will come to take those who believe/trust in Him to Heaven.

THE TRIBULATION

Terrible judgments will come on the earth and millions of people will die as a result of wars, famines, earthquakes, plagues, storms, and other terrifying catastrophes.

THE MILLENNIUM

After seven years of judgment on the earth, Jesus will come back to the earth and rule for a thousand years. Revelation 20:4 and 6 states, "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years...Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."

For the first time ever, there will be peace. Then God will destroy the earth and replace it with a new heaven and earth. 2 Peter 3:10 and 13 reads, "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up...Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness."

Revelation 21:4 states, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

Satan will be finally defeated. Revelation 20:7-10 reads, "And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND HOW YOU CAN BE PREPARED

This earth is not your ultimate home. The end of the world will come, but what is more important is for you to know what's going to happen to you when your life ends. God's Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross for your sins and was raised from the dead. He now offers forgiveness and eternal life to those who believe in Him. He promised in John 3:16 "that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Jesus Christ assured us in John 11:26 that "whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."

THE DECISION IS YOURS?

You might not know exactly when this world will end, but you can know where you will be when it does end. Choose to be in God's presence forever in heaven. Place your trust/believe in Jesus Christ and receive Him as your Saviour today. Acts 16:31 says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved."

1. Accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God's law. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:20: "For there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good, and sinneth not." Romans 3:23 reads: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." In fact, I am the chief of sinners, so don't think that you're alone.

2. Accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death..."

3. Accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." The Bible says in Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

4. Accept the fact that you cannot do anything to save yourself! The Bible states in Ephesians 2: 8, 9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast."

5. Accept the fact that God loves you more than you love yourself, and that He wants to save you from hell. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

6. With these facts in mind, please repent of your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and pray and ask Him to come into your heart and save you this very moment. The Bible states in the book of Romans 10:9, 13: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

He is the 62nd Chaplain of the United States Senate. He was elected to this position on June 27, 2003, becoming the first African-American to hold this office. He served for over 27 years as a chaplain in the United States Navy, rising to the rank of Rear Admiral and ending his career as the Chief of Chaplains of the United States Navy, the senior chaplain of the United States Navy Chaplain Corps.

He officially retired from the Navy on August 15, 2003. He has been honored in many ways for his achievements, including the NAACP's Renowned Service Award in 1995 and the Benjamin Elijah Mays Distinguished Leadership Award in 2002.

Growing up in poor, inner-city public housing in Baltimore, Maryland, his mother instilled in him a love for the Bible and made sure that he received a Christian education. His father, who was a truck driver, was rarely home, and when he was home, he drank excessively and spent little time with his children. As he got older, he and his siblings would pray for their father and their father eventually came to Christ. He says of his own salvation experience, "I had no idea that when I was running with gangs that I would find God. He [Jesus] filled the emptiness [in my life]. I'm just a boy from the 'hood, but I encountered Someone who made a difference in my life. He walks with me. He talks with me. When I wake up in the morning, He's there. He tells me that He loved me so much that He died a death that no one deserves to die." His name is Barry Black.

This is the "Chief of Sinners," Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, and just as Barry Black gave his life to Christ, may I encourage you to do the same. Here is how:

John 3:16 reads, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

"For God so loved the world" means that if you are in the world, God loves you. No matter who you are, where you are, or what you have done, God loves you.

"that whosoever believeth in Him", whosoever means anybody of any race, any color, any belief system, or any socio-economic status can believe on Jesus Christ.

"should not perish, but have everlasting life." if you believe on Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you will not perish in hell, instead you will have everlasting life in heaven with God.

Israel is on the brink of war with Iran as Iran attempts to build nuclear capabilities against the will of many other nations. Protests and violence continue to ravage the nation of Syria and other Middle Eastern countries. ]]>

History began in the Middle East. The traditional site of the Garden of Eden is near present-day Babylon in Iraq. And that, of course, is where the Bible says God created Adam and Eve and where human history began.

The most important event in history occurred in that part of the world --- in Jerusalem, now in the nation of Israel. That's where the Lord Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world. No other event will ever be more significant than that one. When will all this turmoil end? Is there anyone who can bring order and peace out of chaos and crisis?

HISTORY'S FINAL SHOWDOWN

According to the Bible, history's final showdown will take place in the Middle East. The great war of Armageddon will be fought at the end of this age. Armageddon is actually a lush valley in the northern part of Israel southeast of Haifa. The plain, about 20 miles long and 14 miles wide, will be the scene of the future battle between the kings from the east and the nations united under Antichrist.

Revelation 16:13-16 states, "And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon."

WHO WILL WIN THIS BATTLE?

The Battle of Armageddon will not be won by either side, but instead the Lord Jesus Christ will end it by His return from heaven with His armies. Then He, the Conqueror, according to Zechariah 14:4, "will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east."

The victory of Jesus Christ will bring peace and tranquility on the earth, and he will rule the nations.

WHY IS THE WORLD'S ATTENTION FOCUSED ON THE MIDDLE EAST

The world is very interdependent economically. Oil has taught us that. Why does the TV news report the prIce of oil every night? It is the oil under the Arabian sand that concerns nations worldwide and sometimes shapes their foreign policies.

The need for food is also a sober reminder of the economic interdependence of the countries of the world, especially when crops are poor and famine is widespread.

Why is all this significant? Because one day the Antichrist will require people to receive his mark to be able to buy or sell. Revelation 13:17 states, "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Not only will the availability of goods be interlocked between nations, but the ability to purchase or sell them will be controlled by the Antichrist.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS

The Bible tells us what's going to happen to this world, but it is much more important to know what's going to happen to you when your life ends. When Jesus Christ died and rose from the grave centuries ago, He paid the penalty for our sins, and now He freely offers forgiveness, heaven, and eternal life to everyone who believes in Him.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

The time between now and the climax of the age of Armageddon is shorter with each passing day. We should live mindful of not only the brevity of life but also the certainty of Christ's return. Our knowledge of the future ought to affect our lives now.

WHAT ABOUT YOUR FUTURE?

You need to be very concerned about your destiny. If the close of the age is soon and if you survive until the end without trusting Christ as your Saviour, not only will you have to endure Armageddon, but worse, you will live forever in the torment of the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:11-15 states, "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

WHAT IS YOUR RESPONSE?

Will you place your trust in Jesus Christ today and receive Him as your Saviour? Acts 16:31 reads, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..."
